About Us
The Philadelphia Freedom Band is a group of people who love to play music in large and small ensembles. Many of us played instruments in our high school and college bands. Others are professionally trained musicians. We’ve come together to practice our skills and perform for the public. We welcome anyone who wants to play in a concert band with others in community.
Re-established in 2008, the band seeks to be a place where anyone – lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or straight – can enjoy the beauty of playing music with friends. The only thing we ask is that you know how to read music — or at least you were able to at one time.
